A fabulous pairing of Roald Dahl presentations. The program is signed by Roald Dahl in brown ink and the composer and conductor Adrian Beaumont in black. The book is warmly inscribed by the author in black ink on the front free endpaper "To Roger / The Great Mr. An excellent example with a fantastic provenance. Both items are housed in a bespoke quarter morocco solander case. The play was specially commissioned for the Thornbury Arts Festival '76 and starred Roger Whittall in the title role, with Roald Dahl in attendance. Together with a signed original program for a unique production of the musical play Fantastic Mr. Not price-clipped ($5.95 to the upper front flap). Complete with lightly creased dustwrapper that remains without fading, loss or tears. The brown top stain remains vivid and without fading. The contents, with spotting to the closed text block edge, are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm with a little rubbing at the extremities. Illustrated with drawings throughout by Jill Bennett. Publisher's original quarter brown cloth over paper covered boards, stamped in blind to the upper board, with titles in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper.
